Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Last night I watched Eternal sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I cried, cried for 15 minutes. The fact that I cried does not make me less of a man, it means on some level I could connect with the movie. And this is what I think is brilliant about this wonderfully complex movie. The movie is fast paced and about 1 hour into the film you are left wondering whether you are in the present or the past. The title credits of this film appear after 18 minutes which is at the end of the first reel. Thought the movie looks technically brilliant, there is minimum use of digital effects and most of the complex scenes are created using old fashioned camera tricks! Both the characters have portrayed their parts very effectively and I firmly believe that this is one of Jim Carrey's best performances till date. Kate Winslet is great in the film, her colour changing hair and indecisive nature are beautifully crafted. I strongly recommend a second viewing to totally understand the intricacies of this film. Surely one of my favorites!

I have seen this movie at least 20 times... The concept reinforces the belief in destiny .. you can erase things out of your mind.. but if you are destined to do somethig then you shall be there..
