The boy who kept running....

This image is shot at Banganga, which is a place in the Malabar Hill area of Mumbai City. It is believed that in mythical times the great Lord Rama, an incarnation of God Vishnu, shot an arrow in the ground to provide for fresh water for drinking. The place where the arrow hit the ground there issued out a stream of fresh and sweet water from a tributary of the Ganga, over a thousand miles away. Hence the place is known as Banganga

During festivals such as Narsmiha Jayanthi, the temples idols are paraded every evening on chariots pulled by male devotees. Carnatic saxophones accompany the procession. The procession which unfolds over a period of 12 days draws crows of up to a couple of hundred.
Young kids accompany the lord on it and distribute Prasad.
Teenagers pull the procession cart on which the idol of Lord Narsmiha is mounted. Covering a 5 k.m. path can be strenuous, it shows.
